Mahane Yehuda Market

One block from our weekend hostel in Jerusalem, is the Mahane Yehuda outdoor market. For the past two weekends, this has been one of our favorite places to go and you'll see why! They have almost every type of food you would want and we have learned to stock up on fruit and nuts to take back to our dig site. Because it is an outdoor market, you have to throw all sanitary concerns aside and just take it for what it is because there are flies everywhere, but its worth it!

One of the largest bananas I have ever seen!

Middle Eastern spices!

one of the egg stands

numerous varieties of Havla, a Middle Eastern dessert

Some of the many desserts!

Olives!

Bread and pastries were everywhere.

Random performer in the market

more olives and pickled items

The only items at the market I did not take pictures of were the fresh seafood and meat stands, as I found them unappetizing to look at plus no one wants to see a picture of just raw meat.
